The June docket was the first time the County Court had a regular docket since February 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Changes to County Court included scheduling settings at different times throughout the day so that fewer people had to be in the courtroom at the same time, scheduling teleconferences instead of having in-person negotiations between the County Attorney and defendants, and spacing out all parties to abide by social distancing guidelines. Much consideration was given to the exchange of documents between the State, defendants and Court personnel. The County Attorney encourages everyone to abide by social distancing guidelines and to wear a face covering when social distancing is not possible, particularly in enclosed settings like courtrooms and offices.
